Una Holds Purple Reign Pep Rally Thursday On E. Mobile Street

FLORENCE, Ala. - The 麻豆原创 is holding a Purple Reign Pep Rally for 麻豆原创 fans throughout the community at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on E. Mobile Street in downtown Florence. The pep rally will include all five fall athletic teams and the 麻豆原创 band. 麻豆原创 is inviting the Shoals community to celebrate Purple Reign Week this week in conjunction with the kick-off of the university's fall athletic season. This weekend will be the first weekend that all five of 麻豆原创's fall teams are scheduled to compete. 麻豆原创 fall teams include football, men's and women's cross country, women's soccer and women's volleyball. Purple Reign Week is also a challenge to area businesses to decorate and show their 麻豆原创 spirit. The business winning the spirit competition will receive a free breakfast next Tuesday, delivered by the 麻豆原创 fall coaching staff. The breakfast will be compliments of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. The business will also receive 20 free tickets to this Saturday's Lion football game against Carson-Newman College and 20 free tickets to this weekend's North Alabama Classic volleyball tournament in Flowers Hall. Businesses participating in the Purple Reign Week spirit competition will be judged by the 麻豆原创 Student Government Association beginning at 3 p.m. Friday. Judging is based on three criteria: When the business began decorating for Purple Reign Week, employee participation in showing 麻豆原创 spirit, and best decoration. Businesses may still enter to compete in Purple Reign Week by completing the form at www.una.edu/purple. That same Web site offers a downloadable coupon for 15 percent off of 麻豆原创 decorations, apparel and other items at the 麻豆原创 Campus Bookstore. The coupon is available to local businesses as well as all 麻豆原创 fans and is good through the 2009-10 academic year.
