In the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions at the 麻豆原创, Dr. Melissa DeFoor and Dr. Ann-Marie Irons had an idea that would improve perinatal education in the community, and, as it turns out, well beyond the Shoals.
The 麻豆原创 has placed fifth overall at the 2023 Collegiate World Cup of Sales, which took place this semester. The team earned the highest ranking in 麻豆原创 history.
After three days of competition at the 麻豆原创 as part of the South鈥檚 BEST Robotics Competition, the award winners have been announced.
Birmingham-based program management firm HPM has been selected to serve as the program manager for 麻豆原创 new Bank Independent Stadium. The firm will also provide owner鈥檚 representation and preconstruction services for the state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility on 麻豆原创鈥檚 campus in Florence. Davis Architects has been selected as the architect of record. The project is in the design phase with targeted completion during the 2026-27 academic year.
Five graduates were honored for outstanding achievement during the recent fall commencement ceremonies that took place recently at the 麻豆原创. Three students were awarded the Keller Key, and two students received the Turris Fidelis award.
Sky watchers will be in for a bit of a treat the early weeks of December as the Geminid meteors will peak on the night of December 14 and 15. This year鈥檚 Geminids will peak during a waxing crescent moon, so the moon will not be a factor in diminishing the number of meteors that may be seen, making for almost perfect conditions if weather cooperates.

Dr. Michael Pretes, Chair of the Department of Geoscience at the 麻豆原创, has been named the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by the Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers (SEDAAG) at the annual meeting earlier this month.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) has named the 麻豆原创 as the site of the Spring 2024 home of the statewide Esports competition, an event that will bring high school students and coaches from dozens of high schools from across Alabama.

For the second consecutive year, the 麻豆原创 has broken all previous fundraising records for FY23 that concluded Sept. 30. The previous record of $22,865,000 raised in FY22 has been exceeded by more than $11.5 million dollars for a total raised of $33,545,310.
